When we were at the Gold Coast Airport Marathon last month, we ran a special competition for Expo attendees. Giving them the chance to go in the draw to win a trip to Hawaii, including entry in the Honolulu Marathon!
We are delighted to announce that the winner of the competition is Laura Garner from Cairns, Queensland!
While it was a random draw, we think Laura is a well deserving winner, embodying the “active travel” lifestyle! Her family and friends say that she is “over-the-top” active, and while Laura admits to being completely obsessed with exercise, she absolutely loves it and is always looking for her next challenge!
Laura’s recently competed in:
- Gold Coast Marathon 2013
- Cairns Ironman 2013
- Gold Coast Marathon 2011
Her active goals are:
- “To run the Great Wall of China Marathon before I turn 50”
- Participate in ‘On a Mission – Cairns’ – an adventure event at Mission Beach
- Cairns Ironman 2014
- And smashing a number of local trail runs around Cairns
Laura’s also currently reading Run Like Crazy: 52 Marathons, 52 weeks, 48 countries. This book has inspired Laura to travel and run in more international destinations. She says that winning our Honolulu Marathon competition was “meant to be”. It’s definitely got your active dream off to a good start Laura! We can’t wait to hear how you go.
